| | As I was leaving the Shaw centre after the Franz Ferdinand concert (which was freakin' AMAZING, btw) everyone was crowded around the TVs in the lobby watching the game. It was pretty hilarious. Death Cab for Cutie was even giving us updates during the show. I wasn't around for the winning goal. Glad to hear they didn't screw it up! Ah the playoffs. The only time I become mildly interested in NHL hockey. Take! Me! Out! But yeah. Franz rocked the house!! So good. They're such amazing performers, even if you can't understand a damn word he's saying when he talks. I had a major freak out though when a crowd surfer knocked my glasses off and they went clattering to the ground amidst all the people. I couldn't see anything, I thought my glasses were gone for good, I wouldn't be able to get new ones for tour, not to mention not being able to afford my ridiculously expensive lenses, so I did what any rational grown man would do, I burst into tears. Luckily Robyn was quick thinking and acting and dove down amongst the feet and rescued them!! They didn't even get stepped on. What a life saver. Still didn't stop me from bawling all the way out of the auditorium. Wasn't a pretty picture. It was such a traumatic experience. I'm so attached to these glasses, in a way that I didn't really realize till today. I still get shaky thinking about it now. I would be virtually unable to function. Couldn't drive, could barely read. Using the till at work would literally give me a splitting headache. Such scary thoughts. Gives me the hibbly jibblies. I want a new camera. | comments: Leave a comment |

| I’d listen to the words he’d say But in his voice I heard decay The plastic face forced to portray All the insides left cold and gray There is a place that still remains It eats the fear it eats the pain The sweetest price he’ll have to pay The day the whole world went away

| | Tonight's concert was fucking amazing. Death from Above 1979 were fucking amazing. Their raw talent as well as remarkable musical sophistication was just incredible to watch. And from twelve feet away I certainly good a good view. I was literally hanging off the railings. Queens of the Stone Age were good. Not phenomenal, and the lead singer is kind of a prick, but they were really good. They finished off with a really great version of their famous "No One Knows." Then NIN. Wow. Amazing. That band fucking knows how to rock. The fast songs were so gripping and the slow songs just made your heart ache and weep. Trent puts so much energy and emotion into everything he did on stage. It was an experience not soon forgotten, marred only by the bitch in the pink hoodie who kept crowd surfing and getting dropped on my head. My neck is killing me. And I got elbowed in the face. Those NIN fans know how to rock too. Peace, y'all. | comments: Leave a comment |
